You mentioned you are doing dual extrusion, are you using a Y splitter? Can you share which one?

I'm using an e3d Chimera hot-end, so its a true dual, not a Y.

Do you happen to have a link to the extruder gear you used? I just put your extruder together, but I wasn't able to fit the gear into the hole where the motor shaft lands. Everything else has been absolutely perfect in terms of tolerances and spacing, so I'm guessing I just have a different gear than you.

I don't -- I've bought Mk8 gears a few times and they've moved around a few different devices.

The important thing is the have to Mk8, and not Mk7. So they're 5mm shaft and 9mm outer diameter. Mk7 is 12mm outer diameter, IIRC.

That's also the size for the stock D-bot extruder, so an existing one should work.

One thing I've noticed -- a very small number of shops I've seen online are selling Mk7 gears incorrectly as Mk8. Make sure whatever you're using is 9mm diameter.

Edit: I just checked, the design has an 11mm opening, so there's 1mm clearance -- enough to keep a tight constraint on the filament, but big enough so I figured it'd print okay even with various printer's variances in size.

So make sure your gear is 9mm, and the opening is 11mm.
