Summary

This is the Mark II model made by PabloFerroDesign modified for print ability on a 140x140 Huxley.

I have also done lot's of changes here and there and a total redesign of the fingers.

Instructions

Print and assemble.

You may need to change things a bit for your printer.

I have included the SketchUp file if you want to fix things up even more.

There are two versions of many parts because I had the idea to lighten the parts up a bit. But in reality I don't think you actually win much material on it.

I cant seem to download this thing so I can print it. My computer said that the download does not exist anymore. Any thoughts as to what i could be doing wrong?

I've tried from two different computers and both works to download from. Either it was a one time problem on the site or you may have to clear your internet-cache... It should still work. I have not removed any files at least. :)

I tried to slice the second file and the program (Repetier Host) cut it horizontally at te middle,someone know how to fix it?

I tried it out, and am actually reprinting the original Mark II's fingers off from PabloFerroDesgin. I found that your fingers were bulbous and not an improvement at all. The main knuckles actually collide and I'm not doing that much sanding to fix it. But at least I made scrap to test a home brew filament maker when I have it all together.

You are correct, my printer did not manage to print the small "link-houses" on the fingers in the original model. That's why I redesigned the fingers. The result being that the knuckles became bigger of course. :)

Of all the pins the smallest pins went wrong (those 2 pins which are different instead of the rest)
Could you put these seperately? I dont want to print all the pins again

There you go. A new file called "Smallest-Pins-sNi.stl". It's only the two small pins. :)

Prints beautifully. Lo-Fi solution for loose joints like the head, hip or arms is to stuff a bit of cotton wool in the sockets before inserting the pins. Gives just enough resistance to hold the pins in place and make the little guy perfectly poseable.

The cotton is a good idea!! :) The print looks great! Good work! :)

Great looking, but bad for printing. Lots of warping. Lots of pieces, do not fit together. body edges warp, sanding helps. Pins way to short, do not hold. Better if were plastic bolts. Ball Joints splines to narrow, break easily. Head to big, & too heavy. Pelvic hip section, way to small. Lots of cracks, need overlapping. All body ball joints too loose. Hot glue, was my cure all, for most problems.

Where does the tiniest pin goes?

The smallest ones goes inside the hip parts. :)

Such a neat Thing! Unfortunately though tolerances are off for PLA and things do not fit all too good. I had to shave and file and he still has issues. FWIW I for one would easily PAY $5-$10 for a set of files of this guy with detailed tolerances so he fits together well and there's friction in the joints.

hey snille, can you put a files with only the hand palm on? i have a hard time to print it. the only way sucsessful is flat with support

Hi Rufux,

You have all the parts in the Sketchup file if you want to print just some parts. Just export the part you want to print by itself.

Anyway, I will upload a STL with only the hands. :)

Are the Arms and Legs files miss named, The Arms file has his feet (minus pads) in with it. Are those all the pieces to his Legs?

Any chance of uploaded just the new hands and fingers? Since thats the biggest issue for me from the original.

You know, if you could hand me the tolerance values you use for the clips, aswell as the ratio of the actually bulb clip to it's shaft, it would really help me out.

I don't have any special tolerances. It's all trial and error. Just imported all parts form the original STL:s and changed them until they worked on my printer. As a thumb rule I have that 0.2mm is the usual margin. So if I want a part to be 10x10mm, I make it 9.8x9.8mm. Other then that it's all look and feel. :)
