Oye! Oye!

Zheng3 3D Printing Kickstarter #4 is due to launch in Spring 2016! Join the Horde to be notified when we launch and-- AND! receive a free 3D model not available anywhere else!

We now return you to your regular model description.

"A grandson's lifespan hence, the rust-red earth yet bore no fruit."

--Qie Zi, The Art of Seej

This is the secret model from the first Cryptstone Challenge, now made public and freely shareable.

The Cryptstone Challenge is still active, with a new model behind the crypt door.

Construction is snap together! Loop a single rubber band through the pins, post and nock, similar to the Zheng3 Penny Ballista.

Like the Duergar smiths who wrested its vertices from the earth, the Zheng3 Penny Bombard is nasty, brutish, and short. It's capable of showering an opponent at close range with three simultaneous projectiles, or punching through fortifications with a single epoxied slug.

The bombard requires a slightly different rigging than its ballista and mortar ancestors. You need a lot of tension in a single rubber band to compensate for the extremely short stock.

Using the bombard effectively as a scatter weapon takes some practice. In the beginning you can expect projectiles to go everywhere until you get the knack for it.

When loaded with three pennies it's a great late-game desperation attack. Loaded with a single slug, a well-aimed shot can easily split a single layer bloxen wall.

UPDATE 6/21/12

Thingiversian AndyP has adjusted the bombard's nock for those users having trouble with breaking band bores. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:25863

What infill should it be printed at?

I've been printing mine at 10%, but if it's intended for heavy use/kid play you might want to go a little thicker.

There's a discussion started at http://s33j.wikispaces.com/Discussion+Boardhttp://s33j.wikispaces.com/Dis... on how to make these more durable.

I print at 50% just because then you only need to print 1 and you know that it will be strong and not break for a while
