This is a basic design for a 3D Printed Pine Wood Derby Racer. The basic design as based off of my own Pine Wood Derby car I carved out of a block of wood when I was in the cub scouts.
At the upcoming East Coast RepRap Festival, we will be holding a 3D Printed Pine Wood Derby race! We will follow all of the Boy Scouts of America Rules, except we will 3D print the bodies of the cars!
More details to come on the when and where of the race and #ERRF2018, but for now, I wanted to share the example of a 3D Printed Pine Wood Derby car to get your creative and competitive juices flowing!
As far as getting your completed car as close to but not exceeding the 5 ounce limit, you will have to play with perimeters and infill percentages to get you the right mix for the ideal weight. Good luck!
