UPDATE: Added the a version of the duct with the same length as the OEM part.
The OEM fan duct that comes with the Anet A6 printer is not as good as it could be. It is too short and it blows the air directly on the nozzle, not on the part surface.
Having had a good experience with the Prusa i3 Mk2 -style fan duct, I designed this duct which replaces the original one. Here are the highlights:
- It is a couple of mm longer.
- The exit opening is on an angle directed to the print surface, not the nozzle.
- Inner flap.
- Better fitting.
After changing the duct I observed a fewer decrease of temperature on the hotend each time the fan is switched on.
The piece must be printed on its base, not on its side. You might need to rotate it. There is a small flap on the inner side of the duct that wouldn't print correctly when printed on the side.
I printed and tested the part using PETG. ABS should work just as good.
If you are printing only one copy of the piece, I recommend setting up your current part fan at 100% on the slicer software.
