Nice design! I have mine printing right now and I can't wait to show it to my band teacher. I am printing all of the pieces (besides the bell) at once at it should take about 45 hours total, and about half a full spool of filament.

i am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sad right nowand mad. i am at this library and i showed the guy whos running the makerspace at the library my bugle and he accidently ripped the whole thing in half so i half to reprint piece 4-8

i am 3/4 of the way done with mine, and on the fourth and sixth piece it printed really rough. was that in the design or is it just my printer.

It's the printer. It was tested here : http://news.typeamachines.com/video-3d-printed-trumpet/
Printed in only one print session ! (all pieces fits in bed).
You have to check an important thing with rough prints, it's the air leaks. If you have an air leak, youre sound will be bad or you can have no sound at all with a really bad print.

i just started printing the bell without supports. is that bad?

I haven't printed support too for the bell.
It depend of your 3D printer but I think it's not bad.

Are any of these pieces over 7.5x7.5x7.5?

Nop, it's okay to print.
I think the min bed size is near 6.5x6.5x6.5.

so you think the other bent bugle takes like 11 hours to make and this one takes about half the time?

No, time really depends of the speed, the size of the bed and the quality of the 3D printer.

With my cheap 3D printer, it's for me between 5 to 11 hours by pieces.
So to print the instrument (8 pieces) it will take between 40 to 80 hours. I don't remember the exact time but it was near a week cause I've printed each parts separatly.

You can print some pieces in one print and it will really improve the time.
The instrument is printable in 24h with good 3D printers.

and what is that song in the video

It's "Il silenzio"

how long does this take to make compared to the bent one

Like for the bend one, it really depend of your 3D printer and your print size.
If you do only one print for all pieces like here : http://news.typeamachines.com/video-3d-printed-trumpet/
It will take near 24h I think.
For me it's like the bend one : between 5 to 11h by piece.
There's less pieces so it takes less time, near two time faster for me.
