This is a Dale RH-50 resistor designed from pictures and diagrams from the 80's. The model is a very close approximation of the real part. Two versions are included. The filleted version has a small fillet applied to each rib to give them a little more strength. When using ABS the ribs tended to break off.
The model has a hole in each end that will accept 1/4" OD hose. The mounting holes will accept a #4-40 cap head screw. The fit may be tight.
Printing at less than .2mm layer height with ABS may cause issues with the tops of the ribs. They tend to break off when very little force is applied. Using a material with better layer adhesion may resolve the issue.
This was printed with a .3mm nozzle. Using anything larger may cause problem with the ribs as they are only 1mm wide and filleted at the top.
The final part was lightly sanded with 400 grit sand paper and given two coats of Krylon matte black paint. An additional 2 coats of clear coat were added. Once dry, the clear coat was lightly sanded with fine grit sandpaper to dull the shine.
