Re-X Carriage (Titan Aero extruder, Re-D-Bot)

Added a link to the Fusion360 online page where you can download it on different formats. It's on the description.

Genius idea!!!
This approach allows almost anything to be converted into a piezo-enabled probe!
FOr example I reworked it into an adapter for the HyperCube Evolution extrudder carriage and it works awesome for me! (https://www.tinkercad.com/things/j58bZaWPPw4 . )

Thanks so much for sharing !

Glad it worked for you! Looks great!

Still using this carriage? What are you using for part cooling?

Yes I do. I have a fan that connects to the TItan and uses a radial 15mm fan. Unfortunately it was a guy that sent it to me somewhere and is not on Thingiverse :(

depending on the back plate you use, tho, you can probably adapt any of the solutions.

Sounds good. I've been using the excellent Re-X carriage but can't see an easy way to add a piezo without a lot of rework, so I am going to give yours a go! Realized last night that yours would work with the stock back plate (haven't used it - been using the Re-X from the get-go) so I can probably find some options for part cooling.

Didn't want to lose the optical endstop, but am going to try out sensorless homing on my Duet so it doesn't matter. Thanks!

Got the dude (@decyg) to post his fan mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2802040

that's what I use.

Cool beans! Spent some time yesterday and today trying to hack some of Nick Rimmer's stuff to work as a back plate and cooling solution but it just wasn't quite working out to the right level for the cooling. Currently printing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2234811 and may give it a go. Awesome that you have now posted a solution that should work!

Which back plate are you using?

What a coincidence, I just ordered a piezo kit for the Dbot I'm building. It uses 20mm discs though. Would it be possible to get a 20mm version? They seem to be very common compared to 27mm.

Thanks for the design.

Have you tried it?

Not yet, but the build is progressing. Should start commissioning this month. The Piezo kit I ordered showed up too. This mount will probably be one of the first things I print on it.

I added a 20mm version, needs testing tho.

I'm waiting on the slow boat for the piezos, but I'll try it as soon as I can. Thanks for the quick release.

I will make a 20 mm version later. Should not be too different/difficult. I used the 27 mm because a) I had one around and b) I was afraid of the 20mm having too low of a signal. It will be interesting to get your results form the testing.
