The tool holder features space for your:
- Micro SD to SD card adapter.
- A 2.0mm hex key (adjusting the bed).
- A 1.5mm hex key holder, really comes in handy when your extruder gets jammed.
- The optimal layer heights (“magic numbers”) for the MP select mini by Michael O'Brien
learn here. NEW: I've included an stl without the magic numbers.
The tool holder is designed with a perfect fit, while you’re still able to pull the tools out easily.
It’s designed to be positioned perfectly and beautifully on the blank space next to the display and control unit. I liked it there because it fits well aesthetically. You can also attach it above the display (photo), which is just a bit more useful in some cases (otherwise the print bed can obstruct the tool holder while printing).
Post printing i colored the text with a black marker and attached it to the printer with double sided tape.
It took some time and lots of iterations to build this. If you enjoy this, feel free to leave a tip so i can buy a coffee : ). Leave feedback if you want and perhaps i'll make newer versions in the future
Layer height around 0.1mm
Turn the speed down for the final layers to ensure it prints the text and details as good as possible.
Color the text with a marker (i made a mess, you can probably do a better job than me)
Simply attach it with double sided tape, either on the right next to the display/control panel, or on the tower on the left.
I designed this model using Siemens NX.
It's purely based on what i wanted to have on my tool holder.
I measured everything out with a caliper. Took the same height, chamfer and corner radius as the display/control unit for good looks. Added a 0.3mm marge so the tools aren't too tight.
Took couple iterations until it was perfect.
