Summary

Improved y axis bracket belt tensioner with a screw adjustment.
Uses original mount screw locations. You will need longer screws.

Instructions

The belt goes through the slot on smaller piece around the "t" and and back through the other slot. Insert it into the large bracket which uses the same holes as the original and use a screw through the hole to tighten.
The large block is asymertical. The rectangular hole is off center to allow the belt to run perpendicular to the bed. Check alignment and reverse if needed.
I printed the small piece with support material.
Large piece printed with 30% fill.

Noob question if anyone has time to answer:

How do I print the second part without the arrow drooping? In slic3er I enabled support material checkbox but it did not seem to work

This looks like a bug with Slic3r 0.9.8.

Downgrading to SLic3r v0.7.1 shows support via Pronterface whereas v0.9.8 and v0.9.9 do not

Came out great! Thanks for this. The only problem I had is my holes are a little sloppy so I had to file open the slot for the T-bar. Really works well.

Amazing tensioner, keeping y belts tight was a big problem for me, this alleviated all of it. Great design too, any news for an x belt tensioner from you? :)

Simpler than the one that was developing in my mind. Thanks for sharing.

You could even modify it to have a spring. That way you wouldn't accidentally put too much tension on the belt and cause it to stretch = skip on the motor.
