Ah forgot to refresh.

I've changed the hot end housing to the one here:

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2771380

This is because I've changed my extruder to a V6.

A 40mm fan fits this (or at least should) after testing with my caliper.

Thanks!

StudioForge's E3D Hot End TronXYx5s Mount

Never mind, it takes a 40mm fan.

I'm printing this and the housing now.

Anyone know what size fan I should buy to go with this? Stock fan seems too big.

My stock fan fit perfect however of your original Hot end housing is different then mine you might have a newer modified version of the printer then what I have

Hi, I printed out your fan duct and it was great up until I ran into a little issue with it however. The PLA tends go soft when surrounded by heat hence my one drooped on the left side where it hangs freely and this caused it to touch the surface of the hotbed while the print was in progress. This essentially caused the print to fail because the extruder got stuck a few times as a result. I would suggest updating the design a little so that it clips onto something on the left side perhaps to prevent it from drooping down when under heat.

hi did you need support?
How do you print it? like the position of your STL?

thank you

yes exactly like the position of the STL as shown above. with support touching build plate

I had much better luck printing it with the opposite side down. When printed in the default orientation, the small supports tore loose from the bed when the lone curved section got higher. I was going to try putting a pad under the supports in that area, but just flipping it over was easier and worked fine. A few supports were still needed, but I only needed to add ones that were easy to remove.
Thanks for a very nice design. Unfortunately, it looks like I will have to remix it because my X5S came with the newer squirrel cage fan which does not come close to fitting.

Thank you
Really quickly
