Made this for whoever doesn't want to print the center and bottom of Emmett's 2-3 geared heart or whoever can't remove them from the plate themselves.

I have played around with TinkerCad and don't seem to be able to separate the pieces. TinkerCad thinks the file is a single "object" and selects everything rather than individual gears. Any insight into what Im doing wrong?

In TinkerCAD to separate pieces from a part you've got to do a lot of copy and pasting and eliminating or spearting the pieces how you want them. For example. If you pull up this stl in tinkercAd you want to first copy the whole piece and then work on the copy by elimination or deleting the parts that you want to separate and then copying the editing piece, opening a new design and pasting it in there, save it then download it. Now go back to the original and eliminate the pieces that you copied into the new design and you've now split the file in two. Hope that helps!

I have the PrintRBot simple 3d printer and the bed is 4" cube. I'll try TinkerCAD and see how it works. Right now, I have to shrink the entire file to about 55% and it is very small. If I could print the largest piece using the full bed size, I could end up with a larger cube.

my print bed is small so I want to print this in parts. how do you separate the pieces from the single file?

How small is your bed ="thingiverse-455535fab07d7e20409b2d731152ee30:disqus" href="http://disqus.com/thingiverse-455535fab07d7e20409b2d731152ee30/lrlinnell ? You would need to import it into your 3D modeling software of choice and just create plates the size you need. I also heard you can do this with some slicing software, but I haven't researched this before. You could do this easily and free in http://TinkerCAD.comTinkerCAD.com . If I get some free time I can try to do this, but don't know when that'll be.
