where I find the design of this Printrbot?

Thanks !

I'm in the process of setting up my PB+ with this mod, very excited! I didn't want to use the x-idler approach, so I remixed a mount that will allow the extruder to free-stand vertically (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:96940)http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... next to the printer. Fittings and tube haven't arrived yet, so I'm eager to see if there's any tweaking required.

Thanks very much for this. Can I ask you where you got your X-assembly from? Both the end points and the X-carriage. Also, what inner diameter PTFE do you recommend for 3mm filament?

Thanks for this! I'll be upgrading my Printrbot LC to bowden feed this weekend when I get the pneu attachments and PTFE tube.

By the way, I created a derivative specifically for Printrbot LC:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29834http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
It has shorter symmetric base, M4 hotend mounting screw holes and no base mounting holes nut traps.
I will have a go at creating the extruder to bowden block that will attach to the Printrb
ot LC X-idler.

I have updated my bowden mod for Printrbot LC: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29834http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

It now includes X-idler mounting bracket and modified bowden to hotend mount to better suit the pneufit adapters.

Congrats! This looks very nice.. Good work upgrading the Printrbot again. I like the mirror too.

Thanks :) Printrbot is my very first 3D printer so I'm trying to upgrade it as I'm learning about the different components. Next step is better belts - GT2 or HTD, I hear the T5 is not quite optimal.

By the way, are you still running your Printrbot with the bowden? I was facing quite a heavy oozing which resulted in bad stringing on the prints... Any tips on combating it? The pneufit seems to have quite a bit of axial play in it, I might try threading the PTFE tube and using some kind of threa
ded adapter.

Cool dude. Gonna finish my second prusa first this weekend. Then try out this bowden on my first prusa ;).

awesome, do you think this could be modified to add 2 extruders to the printrbot

I would consider it dangerous to ignore a request made by Chuck Norris, so please check the new STL files for mounting dual hotends mr Norris !

Potentially you could remodel the bowden screw connector to simular to this one i made for my huxley MD http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14668http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Modified emaker huxley wade bowden connector part

Hi Roboteernat,

It might be an improvement to the current bowden-to-extruder, because in the orientation that it get printed currently, the hole can only take so much tension from screwing in the pneufit before the part splits. Your approach would solve that.

Could you send me the scad file of it - or give me th
e dimensions you used for the nut trap
&
amp; hole for the pneufit ?

Thanks,
Stefaan

The http://reprap-fab.orgreprap-fab.org hotend does not fit to your bowden-to-hotend part if you only alter the hotend settings in your scad file.

jsturn,

Sorry about that - I only tested the UBIS extruder. I have uploaded a modified version bowden-to-hotend-reprapfab.scad / stl. Can you please test this ? I added a parameter in the scad file 'bowden_extraheight' which allows you to lift the height of the block to your needs...

Please give me some feedback on the best extraheight you need for your extruder, and I'll update the scad/stl.

Thanks!!!

Fits perfect, thankyou. I will fit it to my HUGO -

Sweet! Post a pic when it's done !

The bowden works like a charm and saves 500gr on the X-axis.

Thanks for sharing, another thing I can take off my list ;)

Can you elaborate on "screw your bowden cable onto these 2 pieces" please.

How's the Bowden working out? It seems logical on a printerbot so I'm considering it.
