I wanted a handle for my gopro.

I started with the tripod mount from here:

I then modified it to have a handle.

It works great!

The PLA also seems to have worked well.

download the right and left files.

Clean up any printing issues.

Screw right and left half together.

can I ask why you modeled it on it's side and not flat?

The output of the STL file came from the fact that some programs adhere to the right-hand rule, and others do not.

It should be rather easy for you to flip this on it's side in many different programs.

Ah ok that makes sense. I just wanted to check before I did it :D Thanks

Question: is the nut trap intentionally much larger than the acorn nut? My acorn nut could spin inside the nut trap. Maybe I'm missing something. Great design though! Very functional.

I think that reshaping the holes on one side to trap a 4-40 nut or something would be a really great addition.

Sadly, this is only revision 0.1, and I never took any time to progress it further.

Thank you for the kind words about this, and sorry for the late reply.

Not terribly well.

It does float by itself as the density of PLA is less than water, but this handle will normally not support the gopro after it fills with water.

Hi, nice handle! But what's with the two narrow bridges blocking the GoPro mount?

They were a attempt at making support material.

It didn't work terribly well, but it did help.

they look like added supports and can be cut off post build
