Summary

Solar water still that uses two soda (Coke) bottles and a 6mm tube and hose, The bottom bottle needs to be painted black and filled with the grey (dirty) water, the top clear bottle will act as a condensation chamber that collects the clean water and releases it down the tube and out of the hose into your collection container, its easier to understand in the pictures
This was inspired by a great friend and designer: https://www.thingiverse.com/WarHawk8080/about Thanks buddy for the great Idea, you always come up with the coolest ones.

Very interesting device, I was just trying to find methods to get distilled water. If this gets about 1 cup per day, it's exactly what I needed! I wonder if painting the bottom bottle black would increase the yield though. It could also be done with one of those watercooler tanks, and I'm wondering if the size of the top bottle affects the yield. Maaaaaaan I want my 3D printer to arrive nooooow.

Yes, Yes & Yes lol and once your printer arrives you will be printing 24/7 for the first year lol :)))

You added some filter medium?

Doesn't need it (it's a solar still). (The principle) Bad water goes in bottom bottle (painted black or darkened) top bottle is clear, bottom bottle heats up the water in the sun, due to natural evaporation pure water vapor rises, clean water condenses in the upper bottle walls and trickles down, is captured in the catch lip and is syphoned off on the discharge tube for collection and consumption.

Sure it would be better to filter large particles thru a simple sediment filter before putting in the water in the "contaminated water bottle"
Based upon several video's on youtube...this is a continuation of the video's by creating a method to syphon off the purified water without needing to break open the bottles for collection

Wow great videos can I add them ?

Absolutely...it's your design after all...just my request...of which you filled superbly

Thanks :) ,I followed your description to the letter lol

Looks good but I'm not sure if I'd drink that water not even in a post apocalitic nuclear scenario

I have a sawyer filter in my camping kit. But the heavy chemicals like glyphosate are only removable by a water still.

Yes I prefer a filter too but they are always limited and only clean 99.9% of pathogens , This is intended for emergency use only as it will produce only 1 cup per day that's why I made 5 lol ;)
