Tripod neck mount for FPV 5" monitor + DVR for Ground Station.
The motivation for this project came from building a ground station and realizing that people have very messy setups with lot's of wires sticking out. So I decided to make this one unit with only two ports for power and video. You can buy a monitor with built in DVR but that is expensive route and where is the fun in it?. This is fairly inexpensive and elegant setup.
Plan to use Quanum Overlord Diversity on top of the tripod and this module on the side of the tripod connected to Quanum Overlord or another ground station.
The DVR in my Fat Shark goggles stopped working after my Laforge mod and never worked reliably since. So, I bought a cheap DVR. This setup would be good for finding lost models by replaying video in the field + when bystanders are curious about what the heck am I doing? they can watch me fly on the little monitor. The video resolution from FPV TX sucks for viewing on the computer or posting online, but on 5" monitor looks great.
so I can power the whole rig from 12v DC -- DVR requires 5VDC
And lastly, here is the mount for this setup which fits on the neck of the tripod https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2748913
This was designed with monitor to be removable and secured with 1/4 20 bolt and a wing nut.
printed all of this with PETG my favorite print material.
