Ok Stupid Question, What is the best way to position this to print? I have resorted to slicing it in half and printing it, then glueing it back together.

Not a stupid question at all. I definitely designed it to be printed as one piece. Can you tell me where it is failing for you? I am guessing when you get to the leaves. I use a fan when I print and as long as the print isn't going super fast you should be just fine.

Yes, if i don't use supports, the model seems to look pretty bad on the underside of the leaves. Using PE slic3r's stock settings for .1mm layer height. If i use supports it really ends up looking like crap, and I end up breaking the tree on the trunk. What are your suggestions? Thanks

Hmm.. I know when I print I definitely don't need supports but I do get stringing hanging down when it gets to the leaves. I just snip them off but my underside is perfectly acceptable. I also print mine at .2mm instead of .1mm. Feel free to send me a pic of what your underside is looking like. If you still can not get it. I have a version that the tree prints separately from the leaves and the bottom of the leaf section is flat to print easier. You then glue both pieces together. I would be happy to upload that for you. Sorry you are having so much trouble.

It's not really trouble. I was just looking for some advice. I'll give that a try. Thanks for the quick reply

Big fan of your work and so happy you put up a tree model. I was surprised how hard it was to find one before you posted this.

One thing I'd love to see with this is a way to have part of the top removable. The first things my players like to do when there's a tree is climb it. It'd be nice to have a flat spot at the top for their minis. I can always print it with a flat top, but I don't want a bunch of flat topped tries around. Maybe something like a removable cylindrical spot at the top that the mini could fit inside of? Just a thought. Thanks again!

Jack,
Definitely a cool idea, I'll try to figure out a good solution to that this week when I get some time. Glad you like the models!

You need to change your bio skill level to Professional, my dude. This is great!

Haha thanks, not there yet but I'm getting better!

Dude I love it. Could you do one without the leaves just the branches?

I can look into it. Just dont know how prone to snapping the piece would be like that. That would be cool

Finally a good looking tree model. Bless you sir for making it. just what i needed.

I think I just found one of my new favorite creators. Exquisite work on all off your designs! I'll be printing them for sure.

Glad you like them! Expect more intricate pieces coming soon. I'm just learning Zbrush and the tree is my first organic piece. Be sure to post some pics!

Awesome, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for them! Zbrush is definitely a beast of a program, but once you learn it, it opens up so many possibilities. I'm still learning it myself. I'll definitely post pictures once I get things going :)

Sounds good let me know if you run into problems with my pieces and thanks for your support!

Will do. And your welcome! You deserve it.
