Do you have any updates to this on your website? I'm getting started building mine based off your files and would love to see your wiring and set up process.

Did you ever get the s-tec 55 working? I am doing one using simvim but I am having trouble getting CWS to display correctly.

Have you thought about building a GTN 750? https://www.reality-xp.com/ Reality XP has the perfect plugin for X-plane. Do you know if anyone designed the bezel for 3D printing? I found a CAD file for the bezel https://grabcad.com/library/garmin-750-aircraft-navigation-1

Can you convert the faceplate.SVG files and hardware mount files to STL files so we can 3D print those parts?

Do you have a source where I can purchase a screen that would work for building a gtn 750?

The source FreeCAD file is provided so you can export any parts you need to STL using FreeCAD.

This is a great project and I am looking to a Cockpit to built like this for a long time..

Is it possible to 3d print everything including the housing of the GPS instead of using Acrylic glas?
I tried to slice the preview.stl but it seems not to come out OK.

Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance

I printed the frame with no issues at all, face down with supports

I used acrylic for speed, for a better finish, and because I do not have a large enough 3d printer.

If you are going to print all of the parts I would recommend exporting STL files as needed from the FreeCAD (https://www.freecadweb.org/) model (the FCStd file) instead of attempting to slice the STL files. I included the source model to make it easy for anyone else to remix and build this however they choose.

I only included the larger STL file as a preview of how the parts are fitted together.

OK Thanks for the tip.. Will see where I get started, still thinking about acrylic or printing..
With the laser engraving: does it take away only the black paint so that the white is coming through?
Could you decribe how you get from your drawing files to gcode for the laser?

The engraving setting that I use removes the paint layer and a thin layer of the acrylic underneath.

I have attached a close-up photo of the engraving on my fuel selector. The thick white line is about 1mm wide and you can see some small etching marks on the acrylic underneath. The depth of the engraving is about 0.2 mm in this case and you can feel it when you run your finger over it.

I use K40 Whisperer to do the cutting and engraving (http://www.scorchworks.com/K40whisperer/k40whisperer.html) and the files that I have posted on Github (ex. https://github.com/allanglen/c172-flight-sim-panel/blob/master/parts/avionics/garmin-gns-530/faceplate.svg) are prepared for that program (just open them up in K40 Whisperer, set the appropriate speed, and click Raster Engrave).

Thanks for the info.. Surely in the need of a k40 laser hi.. can do a lot with my cnc and 3d printer but this is awesome..
