Thank you for the great model, printing one off now.

Will it work in gardens in other countries, say, France?

No reason why it wouldn't, Not sure what temperatures you get but I don't think it would get hot enough to start melting? Eventually it would degrade because PLA is biodegradable. :)

Nice design, Will the PLA not degrade quickly outside or have you coated it in something?

Hi Chris, thank you, good point. It's an experiment at present. I wonder how other PLA bird feeders have fared in the UK? PLA will melt at around 60 C so hopefully not a problem for us in the UK. A coating is worth considering?

I wouldn't say heat is an issue in the UK (I'm in the UK also) it's more of PLA being biodegradable that will eventually cause the issue I think. Possibly some sort of waterproof spray coating would help I'd imagine. I'll certainly print one when I get a chance :)

I prefer dont put any spray coating on my bio Pla and reprint one every year... but.... I print one in yellow and no birds arrived......

It could be that the birds don't like the yellow colour... I know birds can be afraid of certain colours.

Yes, the chart I showed indicates yellow is the least popular colour for small birds. The main problem I had with my feeder was squirrels eating the seeds. I now use a bird feeder with a spring loaded feeder to stop he squirrels eating all the seed.
