This is a low poly (that is, low poly art, it isn't much low poly) Falcon Heavy at launch. With smoke!

Thanks to Rhino99 for fixing issues in the .stl!

I originally didn't design this with printing in mind. If you encounter any issues, let me know and I'll see if I can fix them.

Would it be possible to convert the plumes into a high poly model? I want to make this pretty large

Could you specify your question? You should be able to print the model at any scale you want, depending on the program you use.

Any chance you'll upload the original files? Or a hollow version? I want to put a light in the exhaust.

Most 3D-Printing programs should be capable of printing hollow models. Which program do you use?

EDIT: [metacollin] has made a hollow version, which can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2810798

Low poly Falcon Heavy - hollow exhaust

Can I print this in vase mode? No supports needed?

Some people told me that they printed fine with 4 perimeter shells and 0% infills, but there were some holes in the base. You should try the remix by metacollin: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2810798, which prints without infill and minor supports.

I was just about to print this at about 300% scale when I realised there's a gap half way up the plume. Model is not suitable for printing at that scale, although at smaller scales appears to be OK. Lovely model.

and another half gap at the back side of the grid fins :-)

I had trouble printing it due to the mesh errors so I fixed in Netfabb and just uploaded the fixed file as a remix. It looks fine now.

Sorry about this, I never scaled the model up that much so the errors did not occur to me. If you are okay with it, I would replace my file with your remix and give you credit, to save other users some headache and filament.

I don’t need any credit. You did the work; I spent 45 seconds fixing it in Netfabb (well, after 15 minutes of download and install lol). Check out the version I uploaded and if it looks good, replace it and let me know; I’ll take the other one down.

I found your model on Facebook this weekend, thought it was awesome and wanted to print it (in process btw). I figured others would run into the problem too and it only took a minute to upload. Sweet model and thanks for creating it. I know a couple of HUGE SpaceX fans who are going to love it!

The fix looks good, so I replaced my file with yours. Thanks a lot for the heads up and the fix!

No worries thanks for the awesome model! I'll upload a photo in about 5 minutes when mine finishes :)

I fixed it up in Magics then reexported to stl in Cimatron and the file appears good. Currently printing at 300%. Will post a make when it’s done if successful.
