This project blows away all the "magic-intimidation" of rotary encoders. People are gonna remix this and do lots of great things but YOU BROKE THROUGH THE ICE. :-) Way to go!! This just makes me want to go find some magnets and hall-effect sensors and see what I can do. Imaging putting one of these things on the end of evey threaded rotating shaft in my projects so their controllers could actually know where they were and not have to just blindly count stepper motor increments. :-) Way cool.

This thing is quite awesome! I would like to tweak and modify this a bit. :D
