Hello, what is the diameter of the steel balls?

Standard fischertechnik marble run size, I measure them as 12.65 mm, nearly 1/2 in, although fischertechnik brand them as 12,5mm

Excellent collection! Printed them:) However; does not fit. My SG servo's have an extension (screwhole) and does not fit. Will modify them.
By now I have printed everything. Nothing fits. I think the servo comes in different sizes.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems. It sounds to me that with "extension (screhole)" you are talking about the mounting flanges which are usually used to fix them? As I described in the post printing section (Assembly step 2), you'll have to completely remove them (cut them off) before fitting the case, else the servos would not fit into the fischertechnik typical 30mm block. Have a look at the very last image, there you can see the servos after I removed the flanges.

this is a great job about servos. thank you very much for your effort. I need only the steering wheel for front (front tyres to go right and left), as attached part only, so could you pls help me which ones to print?

The only printed parts in this picture are the servo enclosure parts (yellow) and the tiny red disc directly under the screw (https://www.thingiverse.com/download:5327980).

What do you use on the controller side of things for the servos? Thanks.

A plain old Arduino Nano. You can see it in the grey fischertechnik box at the left of the robot tower. Besides, in this box there are also two motor drivers with 4 outputs (not used in this project) and a ULN2003 driver with 7 outputs, two of them used here for the magnet and the red lamp.

PS: It seems you're using ft in your STEM classes? Cool! I didn't realize it's being used in teaching outside of Germany.

Thanks for the detailed response. It will help me in the classroom, a sixth grade applied tech class, to get the right materials together for the students. Yes, we use a statics and mechanics kit that has a dc motor, gear box and battery compartment. So when they've needed/wanted to hook up a controller I've borrowed the "Digital Sandbox," a SparkFun Arduino from another station, but the Fischertechnik electrical connections for the dc motor need improvement and there are no servo's. So this will help by knowing how you've made it work.

Thank you! I hope everybody realizes, though, that the rail is not 3D printed but from fischertechnik. So, to make sure, I just edited the description text, as I'm not sure how well known fischertechnik is among international thingiverse users.

WOW! Your creations sir are the reason I decided to buy a 3d printer! What a fun way to make parts that can come together to make neat little toys. This is a great way for my kids to learn about motors, servos, relays, magnets, levers, gears, etc. Thanks for all you do contributing to the community of 3D building!
