If I where to make an actual metal laser cutter? like 5mm steel cut right through? Would it be possible with this or would the required laser be of too high quality and therefore expensive? Do you know of any laser reviews, where you can choose the power and sizes required for different needs? Has anyone ever attempted?

Hi, i've used this https://m.ebay.com/itm/445nm-2-5W-2500mW-Blue-Laser-Engraving-Module-dot-focusable-Cutter-Engraver-12V/292704784871?hash=item44269091e7:g:tEwAAOSw1JVZ7y45 Cut the wire and connect it into the IRF. Its better to cut the fan wires and connect it separately.

Thank you!

Hi JeanT-
I'm currently printing up the parts to make this engraver- It's a very clean design.
Can you tell me which specific laser this mount is designed for?

Hi Jean,
great job! I'm printing al the pieces to make my own but i want ask you if it's possibile few things. Could you please upload more photo of the finish machine from bottom or the other side? Could you update the information with your rod lenght, just to use as reference? Did you implement a Z axis movement?
Tnx in advance and well done!

Hi, sorry for a delay... Dimensions of rods are on your decision, it is variable. As i remember for A4 its 50cm M12 at Y and at X are depend on table dimensions. If you want, i could send you my working table dwg. Photos are from older version, but almost similar.

Thanks for your prompt response.
I would like to know, the lenghts of the rods, firmware configuration, software you used, etc.

Dimensions of rods and table is on your decision, it is variable. Lenght of rods on this machine will be a problem, because i`ve sold it :) I used GRBL firmware, Inkscape (with 305 engineering and J-Tech plugins) for design, Universal g-code sender for controlling the machine.

Hi,
what you would like to know?

Very nice design, I would like to make it. Do you have any more information?
Thanks
