These card trays were designed to be compatible with the Treasures and Doors cards from the Munchkin card game. The trays not only fit nicely inside the Munchkin Deluxe box but they also fit relatively well with the card stacks locations on the game board.
Unlike some of my other prints, this one went very smoothly. Although it took me nine versions to get the final print to look just right, I did not experience any major failures other than some warping on the original versions of these card trays.
The design changes were primarily related to getting a look that blended well with the game theme. The idea to design the trays to fit perfectly flush inside the box in addition to fitting well on the board came in the fourth version as I thought that I was done and I decided to put the game away; I thought to myself that it would be great if I did not have to get rid of the inner cardstock tray (or flatten them) to get my card trays to fit inside the game box. When I realized that I could redesign the trays to fit, I was very happy.
The pictured trays were printed using a raft as I did not have a heated build plate at the time. I intend to eventually reprint new ones using brown ABS and smoothen the resulting prints with acetone vapour.
