This is a very true to life F16 Model... Not nearly as bad-tastic as an F18; but still an awesome jet.

Each part is designed to be printable without support.

To download, go to my github:

1) Print the four parts
2) Glue them together
3) Go print an F18
4) Watch the F18 shoot down the F16 :)

I made a remix with the file on thingiverse so you can just directly download it.

how big is it ?

I love your models. Unfortunately i have not yet been able to print one due to the wing edges being sharp. Its printable but no way to print it correctly. I even scaled one up 1.25 and it still cant print the wing edges.

could you make the wing ends and the tailfin end thicker? now they go down to infinitely small, which causes the print to string/break up(or skeinforge not understanding to run a full thread for the whole area)? tried to print and those were problem parts.

Sorry I haven't printed this yet... I'm still fighting with poor print quality (getting better every day though) and calibration. Now I have X, Y, and Z working well, E is giving me trouble. I just can't bear to print this beauty and have it come out all lumpy and garbage. The wingtip points do pose a slicing problem though, the wing gets too narrow near the tip and it prints in middle of nowhere (previewing the G-code from slic3r). I'll get it working though... this is still on my "must have" list. :D

Someone needs to make a warthog!!!!!

and an F-117, F-22, F15, F-14 (with foldable wings)

I'll tell you what... if anyone other than me actually prints these and posts pictures, I'll do it.

I would, but I want to join some of the pieces together. I have a reprap so I can print bigger objects with fewer seams. I want to print the front three parts as one, but the whole F16 STL is too malformed to import into openscad, even after running through netfabb. Could you upload a version with parts 2, 3 and 4 in one piece?

Also, as a note, I placed the seams in my cut where I did to maximize 'printablility' without support... there may be better ways to slice it to remove seams... but will it still be printable?

Please share what you come up with!

Use the free desktop version of netfabb to split this, not openscad.

Agreed! Do it!

Think you got that "F-18 shoot down the F-16" thing backwards there, maybe just a little. ;)

Will have to print this next for sure. Safe to assume you didn't put too terribly much detail into your arch-nemesis fighter (superior!), but damn if it isn't nice to see that void finally filled here. THANKS! :-D
