This baby or pet gate baseboard bracket is designed to enable the use of certain types of pressure mounted baby or pet gates against a baseboard with quarter round.
Installation requires two appropriately sized screws per bracket because the bracket can slide too easily if mounted by compression alone.
Simply put, I measured the dimensions of the quarter round and of the gate rounded pressure disc. I sketched the side profile of the part interfacing with the baseboard, extruded it long enough to prevent the bracket from pivoting in place, and then projected a canvass perpendicularly to sketch the hole for the rounded pressure disc. I wanted to keep the bracket within a certain size but also wanted it to be strong and stylish. These constraints influenced the design, resulting in six spokes. It took two version to get the right fit because the quarter round was not quite a quarter of a round.
