Several of the pictures appear to show quite clearly that there are holes in the bottom "lip" of the door, and that the wires pass through these holes. The part file has no such holes, as far as I can tell? I can remix it, but am I misunderstanding something?

I think I left them out on purpose so you could drill for your size wire or adjust spacing if needed. But I have updated the file with the holes included.

is the door spring loaded somehow so it closes after they come in? Do your wires pass through the lip in the door or over the lip? if they go through, then why not just make the wire hole in the CAD file?

No springs. The pointy wires deter the mouse from trying to crawl out. I have updated the gate with the holes included.

No spring, just gravity. There are clips on the door to hold the wires. Just add a dab of glue if needed. It's kind of hard to bend the wire around if you use a hole.

i'll give it a try, thanks!

i will let you know how it works

can you still use the trap without the paperclips on the trapdoor?

Not sure, you could always try.

I made one of these traps yesterday. works awesome!
great design.

Glad to hear it!

Dry neat design, how many have you can’t with it?

It will fit 2 to 3 mice at a time.

I have done a remix that i'll upload, it has a 79mm diameter to fit a UK Ragu jar.

I've also put up a modified design of the gate as i think it would be better to have holes to pass the paperclip through rather than a hook which doesn't require glueing but it also means if the mouse tries to escape the door can close fully if the mouse pushes against it.

I'm not sure if i'd misunderstood the original design but i think this may work better so testing it out also.

what size mason jar is required

It is a Kerr wide-mouth 32 oz jar. The inner lid is 3.3 " (84 mm) diameter.
