Very Neat QX7 battery holder for the 18650
Made this as SnappysFPV...
( you will need to download his model to get the top piece that holds batteries down )
you needed two springs either side, makes it very hard to get batteries in and out so i've shortened the battery Area
And the over all sizes is still a prefect fit in the back of the QX7 taranis battery compartment you will require the components that the Taranis QX7 comes with (AA battery holder) some short lengths of wire and a balance lead if you require but not need.
Big Thanks SnappyFPV
Overview and Background
set up printer and start to print file
Remove old battery case from Qx7 then pull the negative and positive metal components out with some needle noses pliers or screw driver underneath.
Also Cut off the connection End that plugs into the board in the back of the Qx7 to reuse...
Cut down the metal strip to the size that will fit in the prints area from the metal to be inserted the spring side is easy bend the other side thats flat to have a lump in it...
If you don't put a lump in about 3mm then the battery will not make contact(as most 18650 batteries are flat on both sides well near flat) it has to stick out just past the 3d print that holds the metal strip on the inside of where the Battery is to be placed.
Once all metals are in place scratch the back of the metal where solder and wire is to go as this might help it bond.
Solder on 1st wire smaller hidden side (doesn't have QX7 written on top)
any colour doesn't matter as you'll never see it (this is the loop side for power you can run balance lead in here as well to run through side tunnel)
Solder on power connection wires long enough that you can plug them in with length to spare as you'll still need to place this in side the back case of the Qx7
Check and double check the leads that need to be solder so you know which way the batteries are to go (otherwise you might get sparks or fire)
Solder on power connection that come off the QX7
Flip over the Battery Case you'll see you need a 3mm nut to be inserted to help hold batteries in place with the top piece once you inserted the nut get your soldering iron and melt the corners to hold it in there.
I had to drill out the little 3D printed bit that holds the batteries in place to be able to fit a 3mm screw about 15mm long
Know which side the Batteries are facing before you put them in!!!
Wrong way equals fire or busted Taranis QX7!!!
Plug and play
