The shelf I designed goes perfectly with the Malm design. Minimal and functional. This two level shelf is very strong and fitting exactly.
The lower shelf has slot for a charging cable to slot into. upper shelf has a recessed rim.
In darkness you can feel where to place an item.
Its designed so it can be placed on either side of bed. No left or right version ;)
Please upload your printed version. Id love to see. Hopefully it prints well for you!!
I decided to do a left and right with 1 cable slot on the back. Another version without any cable slot.
You can chose yourself what version you want to print.
Put a fillet on more parts of the shelfs
This is a long print. 20 hours.....
My "FLOW" settings in Cura are usually at 92 - 97%. Generally, about 97%, but its individual!
Keep infill a low % as this causes warping the more infill you have.
Placing object on bed:
It might be tricky to place object on print bed if your bed is like mine. The i3 Mega is 210 x 210 so its a tight fit!
In Cura; I found unchecking the Snap Rotation made it easier to place model. Roughly goes on at a 45 gegree angle, ike in example screenshot.
Maybe try not have the cooling fan come on until 1 or 2 mm.
You can set this in Cura by going to the Cooling section. Select the Cog to get into settings. Select "Regular fan speed at height". I put mine to 1mm
