Isn't it hard to clean a printed thing that's been sitting in wet-humid and somewhat microbe friendly environment for some time? I'm seriously asking for user experience. Does it feel safe?

Would the existing code be easily tweaked so that the mesh only covers 80% of the cover?
I'd like to put a shutter over a hole, so I have the holes for aeration, and can slide the shutter over to shake out the contents (feeder insects) without removing the lid.

Hey Alex, thanks for posting this.

I'd like to make a modification for myself, but I'm having trouble with your scad file because it appears to include other scad files which weren't uploaded to your thing.
Could you upload all of your included files if you still have them?

cannind_jar_sprouter_v2.scad complains:
WARNING: Can't open include file 'canning_jar_lids.scad'.
WARNING: Can't open include file 'meshscreen.scad'.

I was able to fine canning_jar_lids.scad in your other thing, but even that file won't load by itself, as it's missing the thread library, Thread_Library.scad

Thanks in advance!.

Hey Levi8than,

Take a look on the main page for this thing and follow the "Remixed From" links on the side for the Canning Jar Lids and the Fine Mesh Screen. The files you need should be there in both cases.

Alex

That's really cool! Thank you for posting and sharing!

Can someone give me an estimate of how much it costs them to print this item? Thank you for your input-

I know you posted this question over a year ago, but in case you're still around or someone else is interested:
Cura says that it would cost 47 cents worth of filament to print the wide mouth one.
That's with Hatchbox 1.75 PLA at ~$23/kilo.

Nice, thanks to share! I will try it.

printing these as wedding party favours

Fantastic! Please take some photos, I'd love to see this.

This was on my "to design" list. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for me!

Same here. Thanks!

Hey, glad that worked out. This was a fun one.
