Following the unboxing and first prints with my new Anycubic I3 Mega the really bad mounting of the fillament runout sensor became quite apparent to me. So what do you do? You go online, to Thingiverse more precisely, and look for a solution.
I quickly found the sensor guide by Danlim but realised by reading through the comments, that this one would not fit my sensor because I have the newest Versin of the Mega with the injection molded sensor and the cable to the side. I printed the part anyway, measured very carfully and redesigned the part in Fusion 360. I deepened the holding gap (?) for the sensor and added a slit for the cable. It fit very well on my printer and seems to serve the purpose very well.
Print this and please give me feedback, how this works out for you. This was my very first design and I am a novice with both 3d printing and Fusion 360. This is to be considered a work in progress.
If anyone could give me any pointers as how to orient the part for printing in Cura without the holes clogging up with support material, I would be thankful. :)
