Print Thing TagSummary
I was a tad curious what tolerances were possible for printing moving parts in one go. So, I created this little monster. It goes from 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm distance between the links and loops.
Version one was designed to print flat, while version 2 was designed to be printed on the side. It is far from perfect, but it was an interesting toy to try designing. Please try it out, and let me know how far along the chain works for you.
Check out my timelapse videos of these parts printing.

Notes:
I found that I could get to around 0.3 mm flat, and around 0.6 mm on the side. Though, I should probably try again. I used rafts for the green and blue prints.
The green one (FT-5) was printed first, and kinda got stuck with a crook on the 0.2 and 0.1 mm holes. I readjusted the design for the blue one (CR-10). Moving the 0.1 and 0.2 mm links to one of the long sides, so that they wouldn't cause a crook in the design. It worked quite nicely.
The orange one (FT-5) was version 2, which I printed on its side. It didn't print nicely. I probably should have used a raft, since it had some warping that messed up the print.
