this is a fully printed light diffuser fotr the Ikea Tertial lamp, it clips onto the inside lit giving a clean look to it.
the uploaded version clips pretty tightly so you may need to use a screwdriver to wedge it off. i will post photos of my print of the current version later.
for now the photos are of a version i never added to thingiverse
included with the files are an overhang perimeter test and 2 swatches (a small and a large one) they are named based on how big each square is.
the perimeter test is to see if you need supports or not, and the swatches are to help you find the best opaqueness for your filament it will go through .2-1 mm layer heights, in .2 mm increments.
everything is designed for .2 mm layer heights. any thicker layers and it could throw it off.
the diffuser MUST be sliced at .2mm for the diffuser to slice as intended. otherwise you will wind up with the wrong number of layers or may wind up with a different total height.
welcome to overhang city we have lots of overhanging bridging perimeters,
because of this, i have added a small file for you to print to see if you need supports or not. (no_support_bridge_test.stl) print this with no supports and if the clip has its shape with minimal danglies then no support is needed.
post printing cleanup of the danglies is optional and unnecessary
for use with LEDs only, if you use this with a incadessant, halogen, CFL, or other buld that makes more heat then a LED. then print this in a high temp material.
it may still deform, but i don't know.
