I printed this and it works perfect for me. My press is a lot smoother and less powder gets shaken from the cases. Great Job!!!

I was trying it without a piece of brass in the press before, which allows the shellplate to come down lower. I just tried it with a piece of brass in it and it clears fine now since it can only push the primer in so far and the press cant bottom out like it does with no brass in place.

Thank you for spending time testing - I'm really happy.
It sounds like it is working now, but to avoid damage the shellplate should always clears, even without brass.
Shimmed off additional 0.5mm, hope that is enough to give clearance without brass (model updated in files section).

How thick is the rim of the shellplate - is it possible to lower only the part over the nut or is the rim covering all the way in to the bearing?
I am asking because the next step in lowering could be to only lower the part over the nut.

Thanks for adjusting it, it still hits it a tiny bit, but not as much as before. ill see how long it lasts.

That picture you posted doesnt look like your shellplate is all the way down while pushing forward on your handle to seat a primer as the ramp is still on the bearing, mine the ramp goes past the bearing when you push forward on the handle.

On the picture my shellplate is all the way down and this is without any brass in the machine. My old Dillon XL-650 has a steel shellplate that is much thinner than the cast ones used on newer models.
My ramp is past the bearing on the photo - it is hard to see, but it is :)

I dont see your picture of when the press is all the way down. Here is where it hits, the outer edge of the shellplate hits the plastic. To make it just clear I had to sand the top of the plastic down flush with the top of the nut so that is all the higher the plastic part can go. Here are a couple pics.

Split original model into one for OLD style Dillon and one for NEW Dillon. Clearance from top of nut to bottom of shellplate is 1.5mm - hope this is enough...

I see the problem. On my old Dillon, with steel shellplate, there is plenty of clearance from the bottom of the shellplate to the top of the index block. (Photo is now attached to my last reply).

Judging from your photos I think there is room for about 2mm plastic over the top of the nut - Correct me if I am wrong.
I would like as much plastic as possible to support the bolt with the bearing.

I will split the model into two, one for the old model and one for newer.

Ordered the bearings and bolt and then printed this out but it is too tall, the bottom of my shellplate hits it when pushing forward to seat a primer and it cracked it.

Sorry the hear that. I only have the very old model of Dillon XL-650 and can only test on that.
I uploaded a photo to show the index block and bearing when the press is full down. There is a narrow space between the bearing and the index ring.

If you upload a photo showing where the shellplate hits the block, I will adjust the model.

Added a slot in the Cam block to support the boss of newer Dillon XL-650 machines. Please return feedback as I only have the old model to test this modification on. Thank you.

How old is "The Old Model" XL650? My XL650 is about 15 years old and I have an alignment boss between the bolt holes.

I have uploaded a new model for newer Dillon XL-650 presses.

Well... to be honest, I'm not sure how old my XL650 is.
More than 10 years ago I bought it used from one that couldn't remember how old it was. And he had got it used from someone else...

My XL650 is in excellent shape and I have only found minor design changes from the current model. The Index CAM Block is one of them.

I will be happy to make a model for the current XL650 with a slot for the boss between the bolts - I just need the dimensions and placement of the boss.

If you could measure the boss on your XL650, I will make a model for the newer model.
