Summary

Toilet seat wobble fixer.
This bushing shims the bolt to the toilet so the seat won't wiggle so bad.

People keep asking me what is a 3d printer good for... One answer is for fixing that annoying toilet seat that moves around every time you sit down!

Instructions

Parametric scad file. Take some measurements, key them in, and print 2 of these out. The brim is so it won't fall out of the bottom of the hole while you are installing the seat again.

Update 2012-12-23 Added offset to allow for elliptical usage for seats that don't exactly align to the center of the stool's holes.

Don't put too much pressure on the ceramic toilet bowl or you could break it. Snug's perfect.

Truth be told, my printer has some backlash and I had to use a vari-bit to round out the bolt hole so it's perfect.

I need the bolt. The heads broke off mine :/

Search around here, there are several bolts.

There is a lot of sheer stress on these seats from plopping yourself down. A doubt a 3d printed bolt will survive your first guest when a molded nylon bolt doesn't hold up.

Do not use a metal bolt as it can destroy the porcelain. I would think a printed bolt with a hole down the center for a #6 machine screw to reinforce it may do the trick?

i agree with the kudos in the other comments worked great. My only issue is measuring both screws as one was bigger than the other. The scad file fixed that and now i don't have to worry about falling in or off. Check to make sure the thread goes all the way to the head of the screw as that will affect your measurements.

Thank you for this simple solution to an annoying problem :D

A perfect solution to a long vexing problem! I guess I can give up on my plans for my "Toilet safety belt and anti-slide harness". Seriously, it works great. Thanks!

Hmm... red! Very nice!

Did you work off of the scad file to make it right for your stool?

I love these every day parts! Thank you sir!

Best use of .4m of 3mm white I've found so far!
