Universal Filament Spool Holder

Great work! But I have many difficulties to remove the support. Has anyone tried to print it without support?

Thanks for this great spool holder, I love it :-)

Would it be possible to make the wheel on the „Tube_bolt.stl" smaller in diameter (or remove it)? So that the knob can be turned down in the assembled state, to change the spool roll.

Hello Maikt the "Tube_bolt.stl" was modified to remove the spool roll, without need the remove the "Tube_bolt.stl"
You can download, has already been updated ...

Perfect, big THANK YOU :-)

did you use the longer screws?

Hi, Yes you must get new ones more big !

I adjusted larger adapters for the filament spool 58mm to 85mm !

This thing is great. People should know that you wont be able to use the stock screws to hold it in place though. and maybe we need to redo the actual holders for the spool to make them a little bit bigger.

Yes, the original printer screws are small ! I forgot, sorry !!!

This thing is fantastic! Filament rolling actions is incredibly smooth and steady. The only problem I had is that some of my recent filament reels have have 73mm openings in the center, which is larger than the spool holders, so I had to design a shim that I can pound into the centers to close the hole up a bit and make them sit correctly. No big deal, though! Definitely the best looking of all the i3 Mega spool holders that I could find!

Got a file for that shim?

I just uploaded the one I used and my first attempt at a customizable OpenSCAD if the dimensions aren't what you need. Hopefully it works!

Does this work with 2kg spools?

Hello XeZZ !
just for one kilo, sorry ! ! !

I don't have any 2 kg spools, but I will say that my 1kg ones use up a little less than half the available space (see images from my make), so I would guess that length wouldn't be an issue at all. I think weight might be, though. That's an awfully long lever you're putting that weight at the end of, and even a 1kg spool can slightly bend it when full. I think it should work fine, but I'd probably print it with a few extra shells to help stiffen it up.
