Earnshaw's theorem proved conclusively that it is not possible to levitate stably using only static, macroscopic, paramagnetic fields. Those you see in advertising are made with one magnet and another electromagnet which generates a rotating magnetic field. Other exemptions uses superconductivity effects and kinda involves liquid nitrogen :).

Sadly; that was about what I concluded as well. Though, I did seam have a little bit of luck in getting the little 'football' shaped piece to levitate using my other design https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2936343 for about a minute a few times. I had wondered if the plate form expanded outward a bit, if it might let a it work a little better.

Good luck with this. I have tried to make things like this in the past, and the magnets always seem to find a way to slide or twist or rotate so that they stick together. Rotation is usually what I didn't anticipate.

Ya you definitely have to design in full encasement of each of the magnets in your design if your going to even attempt to try and make it work, lol & then you have to also have to plan how your going to get the individual magnets into each of their little compartments too. I got surprised & pinched & even chipped a few magnets a bunch of times trying to work that out. :-/
