(Still a work in progress)
This West African edition of the gripper thumb is conceived by Ed Choi and designed by Albert Fung. We are releasing it to coincide with the NEMAKEATHON event in Yola, Nigeria. It is our hope that 3D printing and innovation will blossom in West Africa, widening healthcare access to those in need.
Combining function with aesthetics, the West African edition is a voluntary-opening terminal device that uses rubber-band. With all the fingers separated, it can wear gloves!
Go print one out and try it. Just like the original Gripper thumb, it takes a standard M12 bolt.
This is a remix of the following terminal devices:
Gripper thumb - by Skip Meetze, MacGyvrBot
Fist Hand - by Mike Li, Hong Kong Maker Club
