Summary

Re-designed, head now always attaches (bit loose previously), now includes optional print supports, now easily scales.

Instructions

Variables at top of dog.scad:

Mult = 1;
Change to change size, I have personally printed 0.5,1 and 3.
I printed components seperately for Mult=3 as it just fit onto my printer.

supp = 0.25;
set to 0 for no print supports, adjust by trial and error using compile to get supports correct.

//dog();
//half_dog();
//flegconn();
//blegconn();
//head();
//body();
//fleg();
//bleg();
//heads();
print();
uncomment one line, leave left commented.
print() gives print plate for whole dog.
dog() allows compile to show assembled dog.
etc.

Nice! I printed the 1:1 scale, Afinia H480 on .15mm and dense infill, leg sockets a little loose. Also the head fell over, I managed to DL openscad, terrible program, can't even get converted to Solidworks without a ton of work... But thanks for sharing the file! I managed to get the head by itself for reprint.

Very nice - just printed on a Replicator (dog1 version).

Settings:

  • 40% infill
  • 0.2 mm layers
  • feedrate 40 mm/s
  • travel 100 mm/s
    (ReplicatorG / Firmware 6.0)

It was somewhat hard to push the legs in the sockets, but it worked out in the end :-)

This printed very well (took 20min on a Makerbot replicator), thank-you. I am a teacher and was looking for a model like this to show joints.
