This mason bee house is an interesting venture for the garden. There are 5 parts to the set.
- Top module
- Center module (print 2)
- Base module
- End cap that snaps onto the back module. This allows for easy clean out when preparing for the next bee keeping season.
Paper liner straws should be used to facilitate the proper storage, cleaning and release of the bees each season.
As far as materials to use, any non-toxic plastic can be used per your own preferences and printing experience.
Part prep and assembly
Clean up any print bed flashing (elephant's foot) if necessary and remove any stringing from the tubes. Use 2 or 3 bee straws to align the 4 modules and glue with your favorite. Run a sanding stick through the tubes to verify proper clearance for the bee straw. Insert straws into all the holes leaving a short bit sticking out. This will facilitate the seasonal cleanup and prep for the next nesting cycle in the spring.
