Thanks. I printed 6 of these on Ultimaker 2+ with ABS, 100% infill. They work great.

I saw "just3dprint" selling your design on ebay for 15 bucks, plain as day:

just3dprint is well known and infamous for this sort of thing. Read here:

I was browsing for some components for my ebook reader design and I found your clip. First thing, congratulations for it, it is a very clever use of the plastic properties!

However, as much as I liked your clip, I cannot use it on my design due to the "non-commercial" clause. Not that I would like to sell it or profit from it, but making it "non-commercial" effectively negates the "open-source" status of the design. Aside from always licensing my designs with an open-source license (share-alike or not), I am using some open-source components which, combined, forbid me to impose restrictions like "non-commercial", so I can't use your part and theirs at the same time, even if I were inclined to accept your restriction.

Do you have any special reason to forbid commercial use? If not, please reconsider your license! I am already trying another solution in place of your clip for my design, but I would appreciate being able to include it in my open-source ebook reader light.

Please note, I also noticed that people derived from your design changing the license (stripping the non-commercial clause).

Congrats! I thought you model was one of the best choices for a 3D Printed Christmas gift! I made a link from here: http://3dprintingninja.blogspot.com/2014/12/top-20-free-3d-printed-christmas-gifts.html

Nice design! how many time did it take to print each one in your machine?

Thanks buddy. It totally depends on what print settings you use. I'm using an Ultimaker 2 (which I'd thoroughly recommend). If you just want one fast, maybe 10-15 minutes. If you want a solid infill/more durability then maybe half an hour or so.

Thanks for sharing this amazing design, just printed a whole bunch in cool funky bright colours.

Nice clip -- printed well! Thanks

Was randomly browsing youmagine yesterday and saw these and thought "finally, a really good and useful thing that people are going to want that isn't on thingiverse. I guess I just didn't look close enough.
It's funny. I really do want sites that compete with thingiverse to do well, but as a designer I can't deny the force that is thingiverse.

This works great, thanks a lot!

Do these clips work with PLA, or are they ABS only?

Yep, I've printed this in ABS on a Replicator 2X and it turns out alright. So far, only printed one-at-a-time; there's minimal warping using standard quality settings (0.2 mm thickness) and a higher heated bed temperature. I did it with 100% infill to make it stronger and allow for greater wear-and-tear.

So far I've only tried PLA and working nicely

I made one of these clips with my CUBE. It came out just perfect (except for some warping due to the CUBE, not the design). I sort of thought it might snap in two once it was squeezed...but it did NOT. It actually holds quite well. It is a bit difficult to open much more than 1/4", but it is a clip, and it clips!! Nice job!

I thought the same as you did, it didn't open as much as I'd like to, so I modified the design a bit to make the clip larger so you have a better handle and lever. Now I can open them a lot more. Here's the thing I created with the modifications: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:306203http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...
Hope this helps.

Do you realize that you used his design but changed the license? Specifically, you took off the "non-commercial" clause. If you could do that, that would be nice, but you actually can't...
