UPDATE: I have currently halted work on this project. I was able to get pretty good results, but after some thought, I'm not sure the large amount of waste generated from the extensive purging that is required for using only one hotend and the very long print times are worth it. It is a very cool idea and I may continue work on it at some point, but for now, I am letting it rest.
I am currently testing this on my company's 3D printer prototype. It is working fairly well, but there is still some tweaking that needs to be done. The current version is a little messy as we are making it work with the NEMA 17 100mm shaft motors we already had custom made. With the addition of the filament cutter the loader got longer, but we modified the design to still work with the same length motor shaft. We are also working on a cleaned up version and will be ordering new custom motors at some point. Functionality will be the same, it will just look a little cleaner.

This filament loader is designed to autoload 3 different materials into a direct drive extruder. The design is modular and you can add as many filament bays as you want.
This is designed specifically to work with the Duet 2 control boards and I will be working on and publishing firmware for Duet.
Please note that this filament feeder will NOT work with a geared direct drive extruder. You hobbed gear must be directly mounted to the motor shaft on your extruder.

I am adding a filament cutter as I have been having some issues with jamming due to a bad tip on the filament after unloading. I'm currently testing the cutter setup and will update this page when I have it working.
