This is the second revision of a mount and fan shroud that allows the installation of a Flexion Extruder E3D V6 Retrofit kit to a Tronxy X5S 3D printer using the direct extrusion style. This mount uses all original hardware that came with the Tronxy X5S and the E3D V6 Hot-end including the 40mm blower part cooling fan for the Tronxy, the 30mm snap-on Heat Sink fan for the E3D V6 Hotend, the original extruder stepper motor that came stock with the Tronxy X5S as a Bowden style extruder, all 3mm and carriage bolts and nuts, and small screws for the limit switch and blower fan. I did not have to find or purchase any additional hardware for this build. Any parts that were not already installed on the printer I found in the spare hardware left over from the assembly of the Tronxy X5S.
Unlike the last revision, this mount WILL allow the use of either slim or full depth stepper motors for your direct flexion extruder application. Also, for this revision I designed the bracket in a way that would allow much easier installation. You can bolt the printed mount to the carriage, fully assemble your Flexion Extruder and E3D V6 Hot-end and simply place the Extruder/Hot-end combo onto the printed mount and bolt it down. The limit switch is in a much more accessible place and can be screwed on after the installation of the print head as well.
For Tronxy X5S owners who are new to 3D printing, I posted some great links on how to calculate steps/mm, manually calibrate steps/mm and flash firmware onto the Tronxy control board in the summary of the post for my original Mount and Fan Shroud. Here is a link to that post...
Enjoy! And feel free to leave comments for any additional improvements that can be made.
Update: Corrected the recessed hole in the back of the mount that is intended to fit over the bottom carriage bolt.
