Sorry if this has been asked but I cannot find the size of the screws used to assemble the excellent model.

Thanks for your great work!

Dear Daviator
The size of screws are described in "Summary"..
Please adjust the length by your experience.
Longer screw may be preferable.
Thank you the comment.

Thanks so much! I should have checked their first.

Excelente. gracias Mil ...

Hi Konchan

I'm printing this project at a larger scale - 2.5x

I have a question regarding the modified parts - (mod1, mod2 and mod3)
Have these changes been implemented into the original turboprop_engine file download or do I need to download all versions and figure out what the latest release of each part is?

Fantastic design BTW, will post pics when completed.

Dear FuzzyDuck

Mod.1, Mod.2, Mod.3 files are not included in the original.
Please download from each Mod.
Information that can determine the latest release is included in them.
I am looking forward to your photograph of your model..
Thank you for your comment.

Dear Salibaj
That component is "Air to Oil Coolar" to cool the engine lubricating oil by air.
I sent the reply about your comment on Oct. 28.
Please refer it.
Thank you for the comment.

Can someone please tell me what part it is, the one I circled in red in the attached file? Seems I cannot locate this part.

Thank you

Dear Salibaj
Thank you for your comment.
This model is my early work, and I am expecting great skill of downloaders both in printing and assembly.
I'll answer the question.
(1) "Support" for Gears
In my case, I use "Support" for 01-08, 01-09.
(2) "Support" for "01-05 Air-Intake Fairing 101".
In my case, I use "Support". This look like a simple part, but printing is rather difficult.
(1) Type of gear box
Either can be used if you turn with your finger. I think that the bearing type can be turned more smoothly.
However, finishing of gear teeth is more important than bearing, I think.
I recommend the bearing-less type that does not cost and is easy to assemble.
Roller bearings are used in the actual gearboxes, so it is unsuitable for explanation of the type of bearing.
Please interpret "Supports: - Does not matter" as "Depending on your experience".
I wish you success.

Thank you very much for your reply. I know how difficult it can be to assemble. I have some experience because I built a working axial miniature gas turbine. But this for display is awesome. Thanks for the upload.

Dear ts-k-s
I am sorry missing "Mount-Foot101.stl" called in "Assembly Charts".
It was added to "Thing Files" today. And also attached here.
Thank you for the comment.

Thank you very much for your fast support! Great Model!
I´m fighting with the Flame-Tubes. Very thin geometry, not easy to print. I think i will change for the 0,2 mm Nozzle.

Hi konchan77!
I miss the Part Mount-Foot1 01. At the PDF you can see it, but it isn´t in the zip

Total model length is about 27 cm excepet the propeller and tools. (37 cm including all)
Thank you the comment.

can anyone tell me the size of the engine, please?
thank you

I made one! I posted a few photos. Fun model. A bit tedious to assemble but cool. Now to build his Turbofan :)

Bearings and screws from Amazon. Couldn't find metric tubing so I improvised with some local sourced K&S Imperial units.

Thank you for this thing! Thumbs up to you!

Dear PokerPilot805
WBC6-12ZZ Bearing is manufactured by NTN Corporation in Japan.
WBC6-12 is the open type bearing sized 6x12x3.
WBC6-12ZZ is the metal shield type sized 6x12x4.
WBC6-12 can be used if you put 1 mm thick suitable shim to outer-race.
That shim can be printed by yourself.
I designed the less bearing type Reduction Gears as "Modified Parts (No.3)".

Turboprop Engine Modified Parts (No.3)

Konchan77 - great model! I'm also trying to find the proper bearings. I found some WBC6-12ZZ bearings but they are listed as 6x12x3. Will these work or should I go with 6x12x4 bearings that are not listed as WBC6-12ZZ?

Thanks!

Dear Ranita

"Reduction-Panel03f" is optional part of "Reduction-Panel03".
I attatched that file.
Also I upload to add this file.
I expect your completion of this model.
Thank you the comment.

Thanks a lot Konchan77
Now, just waiting for bearings.

Hi konchan77
I've already printed all parts, except for the "Reduction-Panel03f" that I can not locate in the files.
If needed, would you please add it to the files? or maybe there is something I'm missing.
I'm waiting for screws and bearings.
Also printed the full size propellers.
Will post make as soon as I finish assembly.

Thanks for this wonderful design.

Dear Lechner
WBC6-12ZZ Bearing is manufactured by NTN Corporation in Japan.
I can buy at web site stores of monotaro.com or Amazon.co.jp in Japan.
If size is the same, use may be possible as a substitute.
I designed the less bearing type Reduction Gears as "Modified Parts (No.3)".

AL tube can be bought at any neighborhood DIY shop in Japan.
Please try to find it.

Turboprop Engine Modified Parts (No.3)

konchan77,

Thank you so much for this wonderful design. I started printing some items. I am fairly new to 3D printing so please be easy:)

Let's say I want to go with the bearing type gearbox rather less bearing type, I assume I have to add support for the gears to print them, correct?

Also for part 01-05, Air-Intake fairing101, do I need support to print it as in your print settings says: - Supports:- Doesn't matter.

Last question, in your opinion as the designer of this turboprop, is it better to go less bearing type or with bearings?

Thanks again for this great print.

I am having a hard time locating the bearings WBC6-12ZZ. I can find the size 6x12x4 also tubing is hard to find. can you tell me where you bought your material from.

Dear CATIAV5FTW
I am honored to receive your comment from you.
You are the one who gave me the opportunity to making the gas turbine engine model.
Your "3D Printable Jet Engine" was really wonderful, and I was allowed to make it.
Since this "Turboprop Engine" was made in an inexperienced period, I corrected the parts at a later date and refer to it in combination.

Dear Tinkerthought
I am sorry.
I cannot answer to the comment of those other than Turboprop Engine.

Dear Gvztr
I prepared the new parts List (xlsx) including the mod-parts and identification(R) of rotating parts (except bearing and pipe).
Please refer it.
Thank you the comment.

Thanks for your fast response i have started to build with %150 scale thank you again:)

Awesome Built. I have started to built.Could you list all rotating parts?

Dear jbrown123
Thank you the comment.
I do hope your success.

Absolutely awesome build. Very cool. Must have taken eons to get all the parts right. I'm very impressed.

Dear touzenesmy
Excuse me.
Please tell me a little more detailed contents.

Ok, but does it lift ?

Dear josiahh
I expect completion of your model very much.
Thank you for the comment.

I am sorry to cause you inconvenience.
Dear josiahh
A problem which I also resembled was experienced and modified parts were re-designed.
Please refer to "thing: 2747907 Turboprop Engine Modified Parts (No.2)"
Subject part has been changed to Turbine-HP-Rotor101.stl.
Since other blades and vanes are also modified, please refer to it.
Thank you for the comment.

I was having issues with printing part# 04-08 Turbine-HP-Rotor01. the slicers were not picking up the turbine blades, they were to small for the slicers to pick up. I finally got it to work using .05 "ultra detail. I use PRUSA SLIC3R and the Prusa control. every thing is going quite well, and I am having a great time trying to keep everything in order!!!!!

Everyone knows the race is on to see who can post a make first. I, personally am "behind the eight ball". I would love to get one done within the next week or two.......like that will ever happen!!

Awe inspiring! Truly lives up to the BOW selection. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!

Dear 750TurboRester
Thank you for the similar engine information and the photograph.
Please value your memory about the engine.
Thank you for the comment.

That looks like a Rolls Royce Dart Rda7 engine. I used to build/test these engines back in the 90's.

Dear ShuttleSpace
Thank you the comment.
I do hope your success.

Hi, Great engines, thanks for sharing!

Thank You for posting it.

Just a second thought.
Could you post a Youtube video time-lapse assembly and maybe if thoughts on some of the finer points on building this model?

I understand. Thanks for the reply! I'll post pictures once I finish printing the entire thing.

Which engine is this and for which aircraft? Also, what are the dimensions of the assembled engine? Your model is fantastic!

Dear Maglin
This is the original model, then please consider applying the modified parts.
Refer to the things 2416610, 2747907, 2792220.
Thank you for your comment.
I do hope your success!!

Are the optional Parts that are posted before this model already included in this? I'm going to be printing this out in the coming month. Thank you for your work.

Fantastic model but very complex engine. This will be good for a school project, might be too much for the average home builder.
Well done in any case.
