I have some printers and have a major issue in summer : many of them have overheating motors, first I check the current, but all was good, so I decided to design a nema 17 stepper motor cooler for an efficient and perfect cooling ith easy setup
Before print, read print settings !
Here are the most important features of my work :
-for all Nema17 stepper motors (42mm sides) bigger than 40mm (40, 48, 60 : nearly all printers)
-40mm OR 30mm fan (will make radial fan model too if you want)
-fit on the back of the motor : nearly all steppers have free space to fit this
-printed in 2 parts : no need to unmount the stepper motor, no need to unplug (you can nearly install them in plus and play mode when printing :) )
-efficient cooling with the baffles that I made
-cool the sides and the rear of the motor
-easy to print, just set 100% infill and support for higher angle than 70°
-in my case, drop down the temperature from 58°C to 35°C (136°F to 95°F) on a 4hour print ! (no more stepper skip or overheat !)
-M3 screws (10 or 12mm) to hold the 40mm fan
-just print, fit on the stepper motor, mount the fan, and go !

Print them with 0.2mm layer and 100% infill
setup supports for angles above 70 degrees (support on only the little hole for the wire plug-in)
