Summary

Micro limit switch mounts for a YooCNC 6040 (may work with other models/makes). My new CNC machine need help from my MakerBot TOM to be the best/safest it can be.

Just uploaded my Sketchup source files for your modding pleasures!

Instructions

Purchase switches:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160769295252&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160

3D Print uploaded mounts:
CNCSwitchMountX.stl
CNCSwitchMountY.stl
CNCSwitchMountZ.stl

Installation:
Install 2 M3 bolts through switch into mount recess
Install 2 M3 nuts per mount
X axis installs in place of existing M5 bolt directly
Y axis requires drilling after marking with mounts then securing with 2 M5 nuts and bolts
Z axis requires drilling top Z stage after marking with mount then securing with single M5 nut and bolt

Now just wire up your switches (normally closed for safety) and you are good to proceed to final CNC setup/configs! If you G+ then check my build out at: https://plus.google.com/u/2/101948760925084043079/posts if you fancy.

Make on!

Hi, I have the same CNC (6040), I alrready installed the limit switches but I have a problem with Mach3 with the "Limit Switch Triggered" really I don't know what happen :/ Can you tell me what pines port did you use in your limits switches?

looks like it will fit my 6040. thanks

Can you share a wiring diagram? A Few pics would be even better....I have a 6040 CNC from Carving-cnc.com and would really like to add homing and limit switches.

Hi RyGuy,

nice and useful switch holder.
Can you explain how to connect limit switches to the control box?
I have a 6040Z-S80 with control board signed "yoocnc 450jkb" which provides access to pin 11,12,13 of parallel port.
Did you use a pull up resistor or connect switch directly? Have you a schematics?
thanks

Steve

Guitarcnc, I posted multiple G+ entries when setting up my 6040, have a look:

I think the right side of the Y mounting turned out a bit thin.

I'll look into making it easier to print.

Hmm, wow! It looks like your print settings may be a bit off. I printed at 40% infill, layer height .27, 2 extra shells and 40/40 on feed. The results are highly sturdy and I torqued them down aggressively when mounting to my machine with no ill effects.
