This is a completely redesigned X axis bridge for a Flying bear P905X. It's been designed to incorporate a E3D V6 hot-end and a 40mm part cooling fan. It requires the widening of the carriage bars by 12mm. This is achieved by manufacturing new custom plates that use the existing mounting points. The plates that hold the hot-end in place are made from two pieces of 3mm acrylic sheet glued together, I have access to a laser cutter so for me it was a better way to create it. A 3D printed version would work just as well. The height of the prox switch is not exactly correct, I ended up tuning it with slips of 120gsm paper....dodgy but it worked. The overall assembly is much lighter than the original, next upgrade will to try some printed bearings.
This is a work in progress as far as uploading all parts, stay tuned.
Update: Side custom plates now uploaded, these I made from 2mm aluminum, it requires the shortening of the x axis bars by 4mm.
Whilst I printed in the nut recesses, I used a flame to heat and weld in the nuts.
