How much filament i should prepare for this build?

That's a tough one since I went through a few test prints of some of the parts. But my guess is something between 4 to 5 rolls.

Since i had some time because of the x-mas vacation i made a stand for the model https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3334965
I also made a canopy of clear acrylic 2mm thick. The proces is shown here https://www.thingiverse.com/make:566306. I am still trying to improve the proces for perfect fit when closed. I think 1 mm thickness will work out even better.

Are all the clear canopy pieces included? It seems to be missing the front canopy frame glass? Thank you for making such a great model!

Sorry! I didn't model the front part of the canopy. I figured that clear filament isn't really clear enough to see through.

However, keep tabs on this make since he said he's working on a full canopy:

Awesome model! I've always been a huge fan of the A10! I'm curious though, what did you use for the clear section of the canopy?

I think I used a clear PLA called "natural". It's basically PLA with no color in it. I gave it a good sanding and applied XTC for smoothness.

Very cool, I had no idea that it would make such a clear looking canopy! I thought for sure that you cut out some clear plastic and glued in.

That XTC is pretty cool stuff. I'd highly recommend getting some if you plan on finishing any of your prints.

pretty sweet, i use to do
machining and sheet metal work to this airframe. so much structures work in em to actually replicate, i bet what you did took some time!! it looks very nice.

That's cool - to be able to be up close and personal with these amazing machines! That's one thing on my bucket list - to get to see on both on the ground and in the air.

don't like military equipment it brings death but this is a matter of respect

You know Dynam sell an EPO one that flies about the same size as that quite cheaply huh?

Great design!! But A-10 is not a fighter jet but an attacker jet (as indicated by the "A") towards land targets. Sorry for being picky please indulge my OCD...

Could you upload pictures of how some of the pieces should be printed support wise. Great design

Sure can. Are there any in particular that you find tricky?

There are some parts tbat is not printable and some parts tbat if you print it the quality is very bad

What parts are you finding not printable?

Hello David,

I have an issue with the pins of the engines. The pins don't seem to fit in the fusulage. There are two kinds of engines, why is that? Do you still have the Tinkercad files of them , i would like to try and add more segments , the maximum in Thingkercad is 60 and it appears these engines are designed with 20. Do you also have some tips how to polish the fusulage before painting.

I know , a lot of questions but i may make the build a little bit more easy. I am progressing quiet well, the engine issue is the first problem that has shown yet. It is a very big model !! Lots off fun to build.

Thanks for catching this. I uploaded some old parts by mistake. I've uploaded the correct engine parts - Left and Right engines in A and B. Sorry for the mistake!

Dude, you're amazing!!! Thank you so much!

Hello David, thanks for sharing this great design! At the moment it's printed on my Pusa and so far so good.

For the stickers I created some cut outs using a Cricut. If you have one you can log in to your Cricut account and download the files directly. Unfortunately Cricut doesn't make a way to export that data to a separate sheet.

Thank you! As a former A-10A crew chief, I REALLY appreciate the time and effort you took to make this!

Thanks for your note. It's kind of funny - one of my concerns when posting this model is that a person with your background coming across my model and finding all of the inconsistencies with it. I'm sure you lived and breathed this plane!
So I really do appreciate you liking it. And thanks for your service!

Superbe ce A10 WARDOG, merci pour ce beau travail!!

I love your design. How much filament did you use? I want to make sure I have enough before I start printing.

I'm not entirely sure with failed prints and all. Let me weigh it and come up with an estimate. I'm guessing 3 to 4 rolls.

Yeah - absolutely AWESOME!

Wow..that's a GREAT design...and huge! Very cool!

Thanks for this model! Your print looks awesome!
