Wow. Beauty! i will use for test black filament. Scaled down to my preffered 1/72 scale.
Is chance to to X-15A-3 DELTA project? Only a new wing and longer fuselage are needed.

Can you share how you managed the decals? Did you use a vinyl cutter such as crikut or did you buy them somewhere? Thanks!

For all the white lettering, I used pre-made 1/4" and 1/2" black vinyl letters as masks before painting the white PLA with black spray paint, then I peeled them off. I had the vinyl letters from a long time ago, but I think you can find them by doing a search on .5" vinyl letters or .25" vinyl letters. The standard commercial .25 and .5 inch letters are a tiny bit larger than scale for this model, so you might consider printing the aircraft at maybe 110% scale if your printer can handle that.

I just posted the jpg files for the tail logo, and the nose decals. Those I scaled and printed using an inkjet printer onto clear self-adhesive label stock from Avery. Then, I put a layer of clear Scotch laminating sheet on top before cutting out each decal by hand with an x-acto knife. .

For the stars-and-bars, I used some commercial vinyl stars that are sold on a sheet, as a mask, and I cut thin strips from the same sheet to make the bars. That sheet of stars happened to be red, so I just cut the red bars from the same sheet and stuck them on.

Rock on, thanks for the info and the model, this plane is by far my favorite of the X-Planes, and thanks for the decal images too those are perfect!

Keep in mind that the tail and nose decals will have to be scaled to fit, regardless of the size of model you print.
