Will the open top fit a 3.5" screen?

First of all these look awesome. I am a big fan of mounting with neodymium magnets. I have built a couple of raspberry pi enclosures with displays that run off of batteries. My question is can you add a mount for the magnets so they are enclosed and won't break. Could they be part of a case so you can mount your raspberry pi on your frig so you could have a display there? Also can this be done or would the strong magnet cause problems with the raspberry? I would also like to see a mount that encloses the battery and can be mounted to anything with screws so you can mount the "Go Pro" on something temporarily.

Printed mines on Printrbot Simple 2013 (upgraded to Maker version). Perfect print, Raspberry Pi fitted into the box perfectly, thanks for this it's great.

The Pi fits perfectly in it, but I can't get the microUSB cable plugged in deep enough. It's so loose it will disconnect once you touch the case or the cable.

Just file out the hole so it is bigger. This issue has existed forever especially on aftermarket phone cases.

Will the slots in the top of the case allow usage of the raspi camera module?

It's a great fit with my raspi, I don't think I'm even going to print the top part the bottom is so snug. Thank you for putting up the files again, I was getting pretty worried about getting lead all over my desk.

FYI copyright doesn't protect against the sale of 3D objects, only the resale of your design files. When we are sharing things with each other some people are always going to try to take advantage, just don't let it bother you. The ideal that you can retain complete control is never going to happen so let it go and be a lot happier. :)

Vote it down all you like, It doesn't change the reality of the law.

Do you print it in ANS or PLA? I tried ABS and got major fitting problems due to warping. Since I don't habe PLA but quite a few RPis, I wonder if PLA printed cases offer a better fit.

I only print in PLA and the pi's don't seem to get hot enough to cause any warping that I've seen.

Fits the raspberry pi nicely. Thanks!

For those interested a timelapse of it printing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfnLQyPodGMhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v....

Glad the files are back. I cannot wait to print this case out!

I love the case, but how about a version with the GPIO ribbon cable slot?
Thanks
dave

I just got a ribbon cable so a new version will come out eventually.

Warning: Raspberry Pi sold separately

I'm glad to see you reconsidered posting the design. It was the right move. By all means do go after the violators of the CC license with all the means at your disposal, but it's important we all keep trusting the CC system to work.

I can understand your frustration with someone else taking your case design and selling it, but I think badger32d makes a good point in that all you're really doing is hurting hobbyists who would love to print your case but cannot, while the person selling it already has the designs.

Your work looks quite nice, and I, and presumably other as well, would be extremely grateful if you allowed downloads once more.

if you tried to print this using PLA instead of ABS, would the raspberry pi melt the case?

PLA all the way! raspi doesn't generate enough heat to be a problem

Sorry to see you pulled the stl's, Just got a 3d printer, and a raspberry pi.

I don't exactly see the point in pulling it down just because one user put it up for sale. Obviously that user already has the stl's.

This, being one of the best pi cases on thingiverse, is a sad thing to see disappear. Would you consider putting them back up?

Looks like a really nice case and I'd like to try it. I don't know the details of the license dispute or the original license which caused the download removal, but I hope that gets resolved. In the mean time, it looks like I'll have to try printing: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:34527http://www.thingiverse.com/thi... or http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24945http://www.thingiverse.com/thi...

Raspberry Pi Case with GPIO Access

hi!

We're putting together a story for our DEVELOP3D magazine on a number of people working on Raspberry Pi cases in the 3D printing community. Would you mind if we featured your design and asked a few questions?

Cheers

Al Dean, DEVELOP3D

What did you use to slice it?

My Raspberry Pi is no longer nude!  It is fashionably dressed now, thanks to you.

Thnx! It fits well around my Pi.
